Network dialog during recording on iphone

Postby pghendry » Fri Mar 27, 2015 2:32 am

While recording a session on an iphone 6 plus the network dialog came up. The dialog that comes up and says that the app does not have permission to use mobile data because there is no wifi. This happens if an app tries to access the internet and the app does not have permission to use cellular data.

Could you please make sure TrackAddict does not try to access the internet while it is recording. There should not really be a reason it would do this? It was not at the start of the recording either. I had already done 2 or 3 laps then it came up in the middle of the next lap. Very annoying trying to hit the button to dismiss it while driving on track.

The only time TrackAddict connects to the Internet is if you have the Live Telemetry streaming option enabled. However, having the OBD-II option set to WiFi, or enabling GoPro WiFi control, would also attempt to make network connections. Those would be local network connections, but depending on if they're actually available or not, and whatever logic iOS is using, it's conceivable that it could mistake them for Internet connections.

If you have all of that stuff turned off, then it should not be making any network connection attempts while you are on the Recording screen, so the source of what you're seeing would most likely be some other app or service that's running on your phone in the background.
