Upgrading from Free to Pro Edition (iOS Version)

Postby RaceRender LLC » Wed Apr 17, 2013 6:22 pm

TrackAddict HD is now also available as a limited Free edition, in addition to the existing paid version, which has been named the Pro Edition.

The Free edition is a great way to try before you buy, and it may also be suitable for ongoing use by light users. It contains most of the functionality that the Pro edition offers, except that it is mainly just limited to storing two recordings at a time, does not offer live telemetry streaming, and places a logo on video+data overlays that you export. When you decide that you like it and want more capability, it can be easily upgraded to Pro via a low-cost in-app purchase, or you can choose to buy it as a separate app for the same price: http://itunes.apple.com/app/trackaddict ... ?ls=1&mt=8

If you opt to buy the separate Pro edition app (instead of using the in-app purchase), it will have a separate file space from the Free edition app, so some users may wish to transfer their existing sessions from Free to Pro.

This can be done by connecting your device to your computer and going into iTunes:
  • Select your device in iTunes, then click the "Apps" tab at the top.
  • Scroll down that page to the second list of apps, under the "File Sharing" heading.
  • Find TrackAddict in the list and click on the icon for the Free edition (it's the one without the green "PRO" in it).
  • Click & drag the desired .mov and .csv files to a folder on your computer.
  • Now click the TrackAddict "Pro" icon.
  • Click & drag the files from your computer's folder into the app's space in iTunes.
  • These sessions should now appear in TrackAddict HD Pro. If they don't, either the .csv file wasn't included, or you just need to switch to the Setup tab and then back to the Settings tab.

You can also transfer your personal track databases (Tracks.dat and/or Segments.dat) using that process, but you should first ensure that the recipient app (ie TrackAddict HD Pro) is completely shut down:
  • Double-tap your device's Home button to show the list of recent apps.
  • Tap and hold on the TrackAddict "Pro" icon.
  • Tap the red circle when it appears, and then the icon should disappear.
  • After the transfer is complete, be sure to go into the app and specifically select or re-select the track you want, so that you're sure things are up to date.
