Using RaceRender with DJI Phantom

Postby craig4855 » Tue Feb 03, 2015 11:13 am

Are there any plans to bring flight gauges and other features for users that are using drones, ie DJI Phantom Vision Plus?

Sorry if this is posted somewhere else, but I searched, prior to posting.

Thank you

Yes, RaceRender already has the technical capability to support aviation and many other types of use, but mainly lacks a selection of included templates to accommodate those activities, so there's a good opportunity to expand there.

In the meantime, RaceRender currently does include some individual aviation style gauges and displays, but they just aren't part of the pre-made layouts that are presented in the menu when creating a new project. If you click the "Add" button under "Display Objects", you can then find some Airspeed gauges under the "Speedometer" group, along with Altimeter, Compass, and Climb (V Speed) under the "Gauge" group, and some Tape-style altitude and speed displays under "Enhanced Display Objects". There is also a rotating compass image in the "E Image" group.

With the Ultimate edition, these can all be customized, and perhaps repurposed for other data channels as well. Your creations can be exported as both individual display object styles (.RRO file type) and whole templates (.RRT file type) for your use in the future, and can also be shared with other RaceRender users.
